Traveller Sites

On Route in Germany. The Situation of Transit and Permanent Sites for Traveler Minorities and Occupational Travelers

The project explores spatial politics pertaining to so-called traveler minorities and occupational travelers in Germany. Using a multi-perspective approach, the research design combines policy analysis, ethnographic fieldwork and interviews, with local authorities and local residents as well as representatives and individuals from the respective groups, to find out more about the current situation of temporary transit sites and permanent sites.
The case study is part of the MOVING TARGETS project.
